Tata Trusts, Tripura govt ink MoU to tackle anemia concerns
Tata Trusts said it has signed an agreement with Tripura government to address iron and iodine deficiencies prevalent amongst the local population in the state.In Tripura 48.3 % of children, 54.5 % women and 24.7 % of men are diagnosed anemics, Tata Trust said in a release.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Tata Trusts will provide Tripura government with technical assistance to identify suppliers of Double Fortified Salt (DFS) that follow strict compliances and guidelines set out by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), liaise with the local machinery and design communication campaigns to adopt DFS and nutrition-rich foods.

At present, the DFS salt will be available through government programs that reach mothers, both expectant and new young children and adolescent girls, who are most at risk of iron and iodine deficiencies.
