Gold dropped to its lowest level in over three weeks on Thursday as a stronger dollar and increasing prospects of a December rate hike by the Federal Reserve curbed appetite for the metal.

Gold slipped heavily yesterday and extended the slide further today after the US Federal Reserve announced that, for the first time in nine years, it would start reducing the size of its $4.5 trillion asset portfolio starting in October. 

Spot gold was down 0.1 % at $1,299.31 an ounce at 0326 GMT, after earlier touching its lowest since late August at $1295.65.U.S. gold futures for December delivery fell 1 percent to $1,302.60 an ounce.Spot gold may break support at $1,299 per ounce and fall more towards the next support level at $1,281, said Reuters tech nicals analyst Wang Tao.

The U.S. dollar rose and bond yields jumped to their highest levels in six weeks after the Federal Reserve announced a plan to start shrinking its balance sheet in October and signalled one more rate hike later this year.

Gold imports jump over 2-fold to $13.35 bn in April-July

India's gold imports more than doubled to USD 13.35 billion during the April-July period of the current fiscal, according to the data of the commerce ministry, reported PTI. Gold imports, which has bearing on the country's current account deficit (CAD), stood at USD 4.97 billion in April-July 2016-17. In July this year, imports of the precious metal rose to USD 2.10 billion from USD 1.07 billion in the same month of the previous year.

Gold prices inched up early on Wednesday after two days of losses, with investors awaiting minutes from the U.S. Federal Reserve's last meeting in July for clues on the pace of potential interest rate hikes.

Spot gold inched 0.1 percent higher to $1,272.81 per ounce by 0357 GMT, after falling for two straight days.

U.S. gold futures for December delivery was down 0.1 %at $1,278.50 an ounce.

* Gold trading range for the day is 28949-29229.

* Gold prices edged lower, pulling back from their highest level in around two months as concerns about tensions between the U.S. and North Korea eased.

* India's gold imports are likely to jump by a third in 2017 to 750 tonnes on restocking by jewellers and as good monsoon rainfall is expected to boost demand in rural areas.

Oil prices ease, but near 8-week highs on lower U.S stocks

July 27 (Reuters) - Oil prices dipped on Thursday after three days of gains, but were sitting just below 8-week highs on hopes that a steeper-than-expected decline in U.S. crude oil inventories will reduce a global oversupply.

Brent crude futures LCOc1 were down 15 cents or 0.3% at $50.82 a barrel at 0150 GMT, after rising about 1.5 % in the previous session.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate futures CLc1 were down 14 cents or 0.3 % to $48.61 a barrel.

U.S. crude stocks fell sharply last week as refineries increased output and imports declined, while gasoline stocks decreased and distillate inventories fell, the Energy Information Administration said on Wednesday. 7.2 million barrel decline in crude inventories in the week ending July 21 was well above the 2.6 million barrel forecast.

Gold inches up as dollar tumbles to lowest since Oct

Gold trading range for the day is 28383-28817.Gold edged higher on Thursday as the U.S. dollar weakened against other currencies on bets that central banks in Europe were preparing to scale back monetary stimulus, but the bullion's gains were capped by a surge in equities.

Gold on MCX settled up at 2856 gained marginally but staying away from recent 6-week lows continuing to bounce back amid uncertainty about the global economy.

Technically market is getting support at 28475 and below same could see a test of 28383 level, And resistance is now likely to be seen at 28692, a move above could see prices testing 28817.

Spot gold rose 0.2 percent to $1,251.87 per ounce at 0416 GMT.

U.S. gold futures for August delivery rose 0.2 percent to $1,251.80 per ounce.

सोना-

जीएसटी लागू होने के बाद देश के ज्यादातर हिस्सों में सोना महंगा हो सकता है। सोने पर इस समय 1 फीसदी उत्पाद शुल्क और 1 फीसदी का वैट लगाया जाता है। अब सोने पर टोटल 3 फीसदी का टैक्स लगेगा।

चीनी और चाय-

चीनी, खाद्य तेल, नार्मल टी और कॉफी पर जीएसटी के अंतर्गत 5 फीसद की दर से टैक्स लगेगा। मौजूदा समय में यह दर 4 से 6 फीसद है।

शैंपू-

शैंपू, परफ्यूम और मेकअप के उत्पादों पर 28 फीसदी टैक्स देना होगा जबकि इस पर अभी 22 फीसदी टैक्स लगता था।

मोबाइल फोन सेवाएं-

टेलीकॉम सेवाएं जीएसटी के अंतर्गत महंगी होंगी। सरकार ने इसे 18 फीसदी कर के दायरे में रखा है। फिलहाल मोबाइल बिल पर 15 फीसदी टैक्स लगता है।

बाहर खाना-पीना-

1 जुलाई से रेस्तरां में खाना महंगा हो जाएगा। अभी आपके खाने के पूरे बिल पर वैट लगाकर 11 फीसदी टैक्स लगता है।

कार-

जीएसटी के तहत सभी कारों पर 28 फीसदी का टैक्स लगाया गया है

लेदर -

चमड़े के बने बैग पर इस समय टैक्स और वैट मिलाकर 3.5 फीसदी टैक्स देना होता है। एक जुलाई से इस पर 28 फीसदी टैक्स देना होगा।

मोबाइल-

मोबाइल फोन पर जीएसटी में 12 फीसदी टैक्स रहेगा। अभी करीब 6 फीसदी टैक्स लगता है।

                         बहुत सारी चीजें सस्ती भी हुई हैं

कपड़े-

सभी तरह के कपड़े पर 5 फीसदी की दर से जीएसटी लगेगा। वर्तमान में इस पर 7 फीसदी की दर से कर लगता है

अनाज-

जीएसटी काउंसिल ने अनाजों को जीएसटी के दायरे से रखा है, यानी इन पर कोई कर नहीं लगेगा। इसी तरह गेहूं, चावल सहित अनाज जैसी आवश्यक वस्तुओं को जीएसटी से छूट दी गई है।

मोटरसाइकिल-

जीएसटी में मोटरसाइकिलें भी कुछ सस्ती हो सकती हैं। इन पर टैक्स की दर करीब एक फीसदी कम होकर 28 फीसदी रह जाएगी।

स्मार्टफोन-

स्मार्टफोन भी जीएसटी में सस्ता हो जाएगा। इन पर अभी 13.5 फीसदी टैक्स लगता है। जीएसटी में इन पर 12 फीसदी कर लगाने का प्रस्ताव है

टैक्सी-

जीएसटी के तहत उबर और ओला जैसी एप आधारित टैक्सी सेवा देने वाली कंपनियों से टैक्सी की बुकिंग करना सस्ता हो जाएगा

आइसक्रीम-

प्रोसेस्ड फूड, कनफेक्शनरी उत्पाद और आइसक्रीम पर टैक्स की दर 18 फीसदी होगी जो पहले 22 फीसदी थी।

कमोडिटी बाजार में आज क्या हो रणनीति

कच्चे तेल में गिरावट और गहरा गई है और इसका दाम 25 मई के बाद से करीब 12 फीसदी लुढ़क गया है। ओपेक का उत्पादन कटौती की योजना का क्रूड की कीमतों पर कोई असर नहीं दिखा है और ब्रेंट का दाम 48 डॉलर के भी नीचे आ गया है। वहीं डब्ल्यूटीआई क्रूड में 46 डॉलर के भी नीचे कारोबार हो रहा है। दरअसल अमेरिका में उत्पादन लगातार बढ़ रहा है।

सोना भी कमजोर पड़ गया है। सोने का दाम 7 महीने के ऊपरी स्तर से करीब 20 डॉलर नीचे आ गया है। फिलहाल कॉमैक्स पर सोना 1275 डॉलर के नीचे कारोबार कर रहा है और चांदी का भाव 17.5 डॉलर के काफी नीचे है।

इस बीच मॉनसून गोवा तक पहुंचा चुका है। भारतीय मौसम विभाग के मुताबिक अगले 24 घंटे में गोवा के अलावा पूरे दक्षिण भारत के कई इलाकों में बारिश होने का अनुमान है। साथ ही मॉनसून को इसी हफ्ते महाराष्ट्र में पहुंचने की भी उम्मीद है। आज डॉलर के मुकाबले रुपये में हल्की कमजोरी है।फिलहाल एमसीएक्स पर कच्चा तेल 0.5 फीसदी फिसलकर 2930 रुपये के स्तर पर आ गया है। नैचुरल गैस 0.1 फीसदी की मामूली गिरावट के साथ 196 रुपये पर कारोबार कर रहा है।

बेस मेटल्स में सुस्ती का माहौल दिखाई दे रहा है। एमसीएक्स पर कॉपर 0.25 फीसदी की कमजोरी के साथ 370 रुपये पर कारोबार कर रहा है, जबकि एल्युमीनियम सपाट होकर 122 रुपये के आसपास नजर आ रहा है। निकेल 0.1 फीसदी गिरकर 567.4 रुपये पर कारोबार कर रहा है। लेड 0.1 फीसदी की गिरावट के साथ 134 रुपये पर कारोबार कर रहा है। जिंक सपाट होकर 158.4 रुपये पर नजर आ रहा है
